Since 2005 Jon Lee has been actively collecting adult stoneflies (Plecoptera) in order to improve taxonomic resolution and knowledge of the distribution of stoneflies in California. This research has led to some exciting discoveries that are listed below. An indirect effect of collecting adult stoneflies is the collection of adult caddisflies (Trichoptera) that, with the aid of other researchers, has led to some interesting as yet unpublished results. Future collecting will include adult mayflies (Ephemeroptera) to help improve the understanding of mayfly species distribution in California.
